TOPIC: THAT CUP WILL NOT PASS AWAY ...EXCEPT YOU DRINK IT ALL.

-THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD-
“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the Disciples, sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
Then saith He unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with Me. And He went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed saying, O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from Me: nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt.
And He cometh unto the Disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter; what, could ye not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
And He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me, except I drink it, thy will be done”…MATTHEW 26:36-42.
-THE REVEALED WORD-
PART ONE
One day, our Lord began to speak to me about some film productions on His days in the flesh. He spoke severally, pointing out the positives as well the defects in each of them. He also out rightly condemned some of them, tagging them as vile and satanic: most especially those that suggested that He ever got married.
Notably, however, He drew my attention to the “Passion of The Christ”. He said that He was aware that some folks, especially children, do find some of the scenes therein rather too bloody. Yet He insisted that whosever loved Him should not be afraid of beholding all that He passed through at the hands of sinners.
Our Lord then went on to stress, that whatever we see in that very film, is mere child’s play compared to what He actually passed through: and that was for you and for me! But, our Lord went on, He was only drinking His Own cup. He made it clear that it was the price He needed to pay in order to save humanity unto Himself and unto His Fathe
I vthen entured to suggest to the Lord, that since He had drank it all, that it should then mean that those who received Him as Lord and Savior should no longer have to drink any other cup whatsoever. He smiled, and said that I was just being human: that it is the perfect will of His Father, that all who must be with Him in heaven must also of necessity drink their own cups. That there is a certain cup for everychild of God.
-The Cup Has Been From The Beginning-
The Lord then went on to reveal that all the characters in the Bible had a certain cup to drink in their journey of faith. That some did drink theirs successfully, some partially. That some refused to do so; while some struggled to drink the cup meant for others!
But the point to note here is that there was a cup for each and every one of them. And so it is for whosoever desires to be with our Lord in heaven at the end: he or she must also of necessity drink his or her cup. And if you have such desire, and you have not started already, please begin today, so that your journey of faith be not in vain. God forbid.
Brethren, we can only cross the gates of heaven at the last drop of that cup.
Therefore, if you have abandoned your cup, or forgotten about it, diligently search it out and begin to drink it. If you have surrendered it to your Pastor or counsellor, quickly collect it from him or her. He or she is only holding it in trust: you and you alone, are the only one to drink it.
If you have buried yours, start digging today. One thing I can assure you is that wherever you may have dumped your cup, when you find it, it will be as fresh as at the time you dropped it.
-But What Is This Cup All About?-
Are you among them that still wonder about the content of that cup? I wish I knew it all. But you do not even need to border yourself that much. As you drink your cup, and diligently too, you will discover it all. Even as you carefully study the lives of biblical characters you will also understand more concerning this matter..
Nevertheless, in order not to leave any one in doubt, I am compelled to reveal some of the contents of that cup . Therein you may find marital delays, delay in conception, all manners of financial and material lack, mockery, shame, sicknesses of all kinds, perils of men and of animals, marital problems of all kinds, all manners of ups and downs in life, unjust imprisonment, sudden demise of loved ones, and in some cases, martyrdom.
Generally, the content of our cups is determined by the Father Who is not a respecter of persons.
One very thing I know is this: if some of us should know the full content of their cups, many would certainly opt out of this journey. And that is why it will never be revealed to us. That is the price of everlasting glory.
Yet, that price is nothing compared to the glory that shall be revealed. And even when we compare that price with what it takes to serve satan, and the end thereof, most of us would readily wish that, rather than end up with satan, that even the contents of our cups be doubled, if possible!.
-Do Not Be Discouraged-
Brethren of the Lord, let no one despair because of these things. Whosever is opportune to have seen heaven will tell you that it is worth any price whatsoever. To say the least, the glory of heaven is comparable to one becoming the leader of the whole world, and that endlessly! Can you imagine that? Yet that is absolutely NOTHING compared to what awaits us in heaven!
Brethren of the Lord, the way to heaven is and will always be narrow and treacherous. Those you see around you living in carelessness, revelry, wantonness and gluttony, will scarcely make it. Do not emulate them.
Do not even envy those who testify that since they became believers they never experienced any issues of life. They may be correct – yet it is good evidence that they are headed in another direction.
-Oh: But I Thought That The Path Of The Just Is As A Shinning Light?-
Yes of course, and it will forever remain that way. Yet that is by faith. Like I wrote earlier, as we are busy drinking our cups, our path to heaven shines brighter and brighter. That brightness has NOTHING to do with your earthly possessions. It is all about your spiritual state.
PART TWO
-But I Read That God’s Blessings Do Come Without Sorrow?-
You are absolutely correct. But have you asked what that sorrow truly means? That sorrow is spiritual sorrow - the sorrow of sin.
No matter what you possess materially as a believer, if you have sin in your life, you are in sorrow, even without knowing it. And no matter how poor you may appear in this life, as a believer, so long as your spiritual state is shinning, you are the very joy of the Father, even without your reckoning it.
Those who interpret this sorrow in fleshly terms are in grave error; and this error has led, and is leading, many to eternal damnation.
But, some would vigorously contend, that they would prefer to be both materially rich and spiritually rich as well. Why not, and who would not? But you must also strive for that grace sufficient to help you to make heaven in such circumstances
One of the easiest ways, brethren, to slip out of the path to heaven, is to allow our earthly possessions to control our lives, thereby suppressing our spirit man, and promoting our flesh. That is the principal reason for the decline in spirituality worldwide.
Brethren, it is truly great to be materially rich – so long as those riches would not cause us to begin to trample upon our heavenly cups, to abandon our cross, and to begin to live even as the world lives.
-Is Financial Poverty Then Equal To Spiritual Richness?-
God Forbid! Financial poverty DOES NOT automatically make a believer spiritually rich. Indeed, one can be poor financially and also poor spiritually! Sadly enough, that is the state of many poor in church today, whose only pursuit is to get rich: not realizing, that their present low estate, painful as it is on the flesh, when rightly harnessed, can trigger a revival!
Who will believe my report? The secret that is lost to many in church today, a great secret indeed, is that, IT IS EASIER and FASTER, MUCH MORE EASIER and FASTER, TO GROW SPIRITUALLY, BEING IN LACK OF ALL THINGS THAN OTHERWISE. I write as an oracle of the living God, I lie not. The key scripture is this: when we are weak, then we are strong!
Note this: even in spiritual warfare, the weaker your bodily and social state, the easier is it for you to breakthrough spiritually. That is why fasting is key to breakthrough in prayers. If you doubt me ask the Holy Ghost. And if you can’t access Him, you may as well confirm from Apostle Paul.
Therefore, when you hear a man or a woman, wallowing in pleasure, and always boasting about his or her earthly riches, even as a preacher, and yet, at the same time, claiming that he or she carries the anointing to make folks rich, do not mind him or her. It is all flesh and blood, perhaps camouflaged in great oratory.
Brethren, I am by no means celebrating financial poverty. God forbid. But wisdom is profitable to direct. The key words are moderation and contentment.
-His Grace In Your Cross-
Are you worried that your cup is getting too bitter to swallow? That is why our Lord Jesus Christ made His grace available to us. Our Old Testament friends were not as opportune as we are. They depended on their personal will to make it. But here we have His grace, His strength that avails us.
Interestingly, brethren, that grace is tied to our individual crosses As we carry our crosses, following our Lord, His grace avails us all the way.
But what is this cross all about, some may ask? The cross simply means walking in daily righteousness and holiness that are in Christ - enduring all the peril attached to that. And when a believer is not carrying his or her cross, and daily too, he or she is wont to begin to claim that the grace of our Lord is a shield against the consequences of sin, even after salvation. Watch it.
Brethren, without our cross there shall no grace avail us. And without grace, it will be impossible for any to endure that contents of his or her heavenly cup.
So, stop weeping and asking the Father to take away your cup. He will not. He did not even when His only begotten Son pleaded for that. That cup is the key to the gate of heaven in your hands. Do not throw it away. If you do, one day, you will search for it, weeping, but there shall be no remedy.
-The Faster The Better-
Brethren, we can only be treading the path to heaven as we drink that cup. And the faster we drink it the brighter our path becomes; and also the lighter our cross becomes. When we stop drinking it, we just stand still on that path. And when we cast it away, we slip into that broad road that leads to eternal damnation.
When we make light of the cup, or mock those drinking theirs, our spirit man will be shown dancing on a particular spot. And I confess that I have been shown a notable servant of God doing that dance. It is the dance of all who claim that sin or no sin, heaven is guaranteed for every believer.
Beware, brethren, if our journey of faith will ever profit us anything, we must run for it. There is no walking with God: we run. Those who walk on the path of obedience have since fallen behind. Heaven attaches time to whatever we do for God. And we can only meet that timing running.
Till I come your way again, continue to follow our Lord, drinking your cup, bearing your cross. That is the only assurance of heaven at last.
