TOPIC: BELIEVER: WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE ON EARTH?

-THE WORD-
“But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none. And they that weep, as though they wept not: and they that rejoice as though they rejoiced not: and they that buy, as thou they possessed not: and they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away”..1ST CORINTHIANS 7:29-31.

“For what will it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”…MARK 8:36-37.

“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable”…Ist. CORINTHIANS 15:19.

-THE MESSAGE-
People of God, there is a common and singular purpose for the people of God on earth. And that purpose is found in the Book of Mark, chapter sixteen and at verse fifteen…”Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature”. That is a standing commandment from Christ to ALL His followers – irrespective of who you are, where you are, and what you do for a living in this life! And each and every one of us will render an account concerning this mandate on that faithful day – everyone who is up to heaven’s age of accountability.

I have heard some in the Church claim that they were called into this or that worldly profession or the other. Some claim that they were called as Doctors, some as Lawyers, some as Technicians, some as Traders in all manners of worldly wares, etc, etc. And those that lay these claims do so on the basis that these professions and trades are their God-given purposes in life. As far as these folks are concerned, those called into the five-fold ministries of Jesus Christ are the only ones with the responsibility to preach the Gospel. How terribly wrong these folks are!

Brethren, God does not call believing folks into worldly trades or businesses. Yes, He does bless believing folks in their various trades and businesses - but to the extent that such trades and businesses are platforms for the spread of His Gospel. It is the perfect will of God in Christ Jesus that whatever we do for a living as believers must be our individual pulpit for the spread of the Gospel. No matter where you are and what you are doing – as long as you are a believer in Christ, necessity is upon you to preach His gospel. And woe is you if you don’t.

It is futile for some in Church to claim that our God ordained them just to finance the Church and others to preach the Gospel. This is self-deceit. There is absolutely nothing like that. Yes, when we sow into the work of God we are blessed. But that is essentially material blessing. Do not forget that both you and what you claim you are sowing belong to God. You have no claims over anything. You came into life naked and naked you must go. All that you claim as your possession in this life are from God – and without Him you are absolutely nothing! His will for saving you is for you to save others. God did not save any of us to make money for Him – far be it. The whole earth is His and the fullness thereof, including you and what you call your this and your that.

Brothers and sisters in the Lord, all the businesses and professions of this world will pass away. When we face our Redeemer in heaven we will not be heard to claim that we were His Lawyers, His Accountants, His Architects, etc. – for the glory of this world passeth away. Whatever we do or possess in this life is perishable and fleeting. The only tangible and everlasting thing is the soul of men and women. And we all that are saved are required to deliver souls to heaven, no matter where we are and what we may be doing.

Brethren, every God-given talent is a platform to preach this Gospel. And we all will give account of our stewardship. Do not ever lie to yourself that at the gates of heaven you will tell Jesus that you cured many folks as a medical expert. All He will require from you is this – the people you cured where are they? You cannot be heard to tell Jesus that you built all the best buildings in your country. All He will require from you is this – those who built for you and those you built for – where are they? Whatsoever it is that is your talent from God is your pulpit for His Gospel – no more no less.

And let me sound a note of warning. We must preach the right Gospel. Do not go about telling folks to come to Jesus and become rich. Do not go about telling folks to come to Christ to receive miracles. Do not go about telling folks to come to Jesus to receive power. Do not tell folks to come to Christ for this or for that thing. All that is required of us is to tell the world to repent, accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, and then to live even as He lives – and that as they do so all that they need in this life will be added to them. We must tell them that the ultimate reason Christ came in person and died a shameful death is to prepare us for heaven – that every other thing is secondary and perishable.

Furthermore, what is required of us is to tell compromising believers to correct their ways before it is too late. Always lay it bare to compromising believers. Do not just tell way-ward believers to walk in righteousness. Tell them about sin and the consequences of continuing in sin after salvation. Take time to tell compromising believers what constitutes sin –and that all unrighteousness is sin. Name all the sins that the Holy Ghost will put in your mouth because most believers are living in sin without even knowing it. Jesus Christ preached about sin and named them. In his Epistles, Apostle Paul preached sin and also called them by their names. Do not be afraid to do so. Do not allow the wicked in Church to cajole you not to preach the truth. When you will render account they will not be there.

Brethren, what you are reading is from God – and do not trample upon it in your own best interest. We must not be found teaching folks how to make money or how to do business in Church – that is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All that teach same are the same as those that Jesus drove away from the Temple for selling doves and other merchandise. We are not sent to preach earthly things. Our mandate is to preach the righteousness and holiness that is in Christ Jesus. And as folks live Christ-like, the Holy Ghost will direct their feet to the good things of this life. It is futile to teach this principle or that principle as the Gospel. There no principles in heaven. The word of God is the only principle of God. Just teach the word of God as it is, undiluted and pure – and the Holy Ghost will do the rest.

Brethren, this message will not come again on this platform- and that is why it is given in this length. And whosoever will read it shall be held to account at the last day. Do not be heard to say that preaching is forbidden where you are. THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER ACCEPTABLE TO HEAVEN WHY WE MUST NOT PREACH THE GOSPEL. Threat of death is not acceptable – for millions have already died doing so, and you are no exception. If they put you in prison for preaching the Gospel, preach to the prison inmates - that is exactly why you are there. Do not be afraid of what men can do. We must only fear our God Who is able to destroy both body and soul.

Threat of sack from employment must not be heard as an excuse for not preaching this Gospel. If they sack you, My God will give you a better job - even one that will enable you to preach His word. But even if He does not give you, you must continue to preach His Gospel – in season and out of season. Never forget that we are just as unprofitable servants before our God – we must not demand to be recognized for doing what we are created to do. It is at the absolute discretion of our Creator to choose what to do with us and how to treat us per time. Beware lest you be found challenging the authority of your Maker.

This is the everlasting Gospel – this is the Gospel that will take us to heaven – this is the Gospel that can change the ever hardening world of sinners. If you are careful to do these things, happy are you. What we must realize today as believers is that we all have a divine mandate to win souls. Some have a mandate to win just one soul, some two, some one hundred, some One million, etc. But everyone must win a soul for Christ – and there shall be no excuses whatsoever.

So, start today, even as you are reading this message. Get up and preach. Do not say that I do not know how to preach. So long as you speak you must preach. Even if you are dumb, the same way you communicate to people is the way you must preach to them. There shall be no excuses. Whatever is your disability, use it as an occasion for this Gospel. If you are poor, preach, if you are rich preach. If you are sick, so long as there is still life in you to communicate, preach. What you are reading may be what will eventually save you after all the years of worldly pursuits of sinful pleasures all in the name of God.

Yes, some do claim that our character and general conduct do preach the Gospel, and they are perfectly right. But you must not stop there, you must tell folks Who made you what you are- you must tell the world about Jesus Christ. This is our only purpose on earth as believers. Every other thing is an addition.

Generally, it will very difficult for compromising believers to preach the true Gospel, very difficult. At best they will tell folks to come to Christ in order to get one thing or the other. From this we can see the hopelessness of the gospel of “once saved always saved”. For if ye be a believer, and you are living in one sin or the other, it will very difficult for you to preach the true Gospel. Yes, all of us do go into one sin or the other, now and then, so long as we still in this flesh. But heaven requires us to repent, seek the mercy of God, and continue to press into His righteousness and holiness.

But it is a great setback to heaven and to this Gospel for a believer to continue in sin and yet continue to lay claim to the righteousness of Christ. This is why today we have unrepentant gays, lesbians, adulterers and adulteresses, fornicators and thieves, covetous folks, etc, parading themselves on Church pulpits and claiming the righteousness of God. And because of their illicit lifestyles they cannot preach the truth: they only end up teaching others that, sin or no sin, once one is saved he or she is saved for ever. This is the genesis of that satanic doctrine, and all that heed to it will regret at the end.

Brethren, let us keep running and running well. Our Lord will not tarry; He will soon come even as a thief. Do not be caught unawares.
